These programmes are designed to be completed in one academic year, however they offer flexibility to allow the learner to work through the content at their own pace.
The course will span 6 workbooks in total, designed to be completed one per each half term.
Each workbook is designed to cover 18 sessions (if following a school half term, 3 sessions per week).
Please note that these workbooks do not cover ALL concepts from the National Curriculum but do draw down from the N.C
Topics covered in this course:
Concept of Numbers
Our entry into the world of calculations this module will look at key early concepts of number, how numbers are constructed and methods of counting, using a variety of practical explorations.
4 Operations
This module will look at the key four operations of calculation, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and will use concrete apparatus found around the home to introduce basic skills in solving calculation problems in a fun and interactive way.
Fractions
Beginning with simple fractions of objects and how this links with division we begin to look at the world of fractions in a relatable way building on skills established in the previous modules
Time
This module revolves around the telling of time to the hour and half past as well as looking at the days, weeks and months of the year. Measurements and data collection.
In this module, we look at standard units of measurement, centimetres for length, grammes for mass and millilitres for capacity. We will also look at collecting and presenting data in the form of pictogramms.
Shape
We start with explorations of 2 and 3d shapes around the home and introduce the basic vocabulary of properties of shape such as angles, faces and vertices.
