Learners will need to have completed the Level 2 Certificate in Creative Craft/Textiles/Cake Decorating/Art and Design or the Level 2 Certificate in Photography (or equivalent) before they begin this course. Learners must be at least 15 years old at the point that they are starting this course.

Qualification purpose
This qualification is designed to extend learners’ skills in craft to an advanced level. It’ll improve learners’
creative and intellectual ability in communication, innovation and critical evaluation, and extend their
understanding of health and safety issues.
This qualification will:
• focus on the study of creative crafts
• offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge
• provide opportunities to acquire a number of practical and technical skills.
Qualification objectives
The objectives of this qualification are to:
• extend learners’ skills in craft to an advanced level
• extend creative and intellectual abilities, eg communication, innovation and critical evaluation
• extend awareness and understanding of health and safety issues
• provide a basis for progression onto further study or employment.
